hügel project, 2021

Bus Panel Ad, 12x36"

Hügelkultur” is one of the City of Pasadena Water and Power's most important environmental initiatives for water conservation and landscaping. This centuries-old European "non-digging" technique utilizes decaying wood debris and other compostable biomass in a raised and mounded bed on which plants, trees, and shrubs can be planted. Anyone can use this sustainable gardening technique to reduce or eliminate irrigation, and help protect Pasadena's underground water supply that is currently under threat.  This project was commissioned by the City of Pasadena Water and Power and will be showcased on Pasadena City buses as a part of a public campaign to build community awareness. Made in partnership with Pasadena Water and Power, Department of Transportation and Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division. LINK
