This collaborative project inquires about the relationship between urban landscape, gardening and education. While in "Earthworks Organic Urban Farm, South El Monte", high school students learn about sustainability, in "Cal Trans, Landscape Maintenance & Litter Removal, Sunland Off Ramp", misdemeanors learn about accountability. The photographs reflect on the role of education in social change, and are inspired by Friedrich Froebel’s early Kindergarten’s belief that by cultivating and caring for gardening individuals develop heart and conscience. In the collection of The Sophie Miller Foundation, Pasadena, CA.
